The "wait" is over!

Well-- MHenrietta finally opened!  We had a soft opening on the 8th and an official opening yesterday.  All went well.  the food is really great and I'm actually having some fun serving.  It sort of feels like an acting role-- or a souped up entertaining opportunity.  I had the second highest sales this morning and took home $180 in tips... this should be really interesting.  More to follow... :-)

Chads Art Show!

So, last night I went to a friends art opening downtown.  He is a stellar artist with a keen eye for balance and composition.  His medium is mostly digital-- this exhibition was a collection of pieces that began as paper collage which he would then take a digital image of before further manipulating the piece again.  I am greatly simplifying his process, of course... Regardless, it was a great show; well presented and well received.  I have included a few of my favorites... Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Chad Dunbar...congrats, buddy!

the next step...

Ok, so I partially wanted to get this blog going so I could share photos with my mum especially about my apartment and antique/dumpster finds.  I havent taken the damn pics of my place yet-- but soon.  I may actually do a video walk through. :-} Anyway, first day of French class was fun-- it looks as thought it will prove to be an enjoyable pursuit. More to come on that topic, later.  I'll try to add something remotely interesting this evening if I don't fall asleep first. LOL ciao!

Garden dayz

So, I met this woman named Besty... she is totally awesome!  She reminds me of my mother (very creative and pleasant) and happens to be the best dumpster-diver I have ever known!  She is teaching me some really valuable techniques. Anyway, she has a beautiful garden that wraps around her building and she has filled it with things she finds (as well as plants).  It's really neat because anywhere you look you see something new-- a statue tucked in here and water feature tucked in there... take a look.  That's her by the bust and one of her dogs who also adorn the garden along with her findings, LOL.

School starts tomorrow!

Well... here we are.  I thought it might be interesting to maintain a blog-- just a few thoughts and photos of note that my family and friends can follow and comment on.  School starts tomorrow!!  With a crazy work schedule and two jobs right now-- I am only taking one course so, I'm not quite sure what all the excitement is about.  Regardless, I am taking my first foreign language course since high school Spanish, though this time it's French!  Oui! I have decided to read the entire tome of Voltaire as it was meant to be read!!  Well, not really... I have just always wanted to learn French.  I only know a few people I'll actually be able o converse with my mother being one of them) so it should prove interesting.  Nevertheless, it is one step closer to that pesky associates degree.
